Goblin Market - by Christina Rosetti (Illustrated by Laurence Housman)

True to the title, a beautifully illustrated booklet of Rossetti's Goblin Market. Often regarded by literature scholars as having strong saphic undertones.

While there are many actions the University of Chicago has done over the years that I find...questionable, to put things lightly, I must give credit where credit is due. This particular copy was well tended by their libraries. While it is one of those volumes libraries don't allow outside their walls due to the age of the text, they did allow scans. Given it is essentially a free resource (one need only get a library card for their main library) and the text has entered the public domain, I would like to share it here for anyone who might stumble upon it. I feel quite lucky to have stumbled upon this gorgeous text myself when roaming the stacks.

Fun fact, Rossetti's brother made the black and white illustration that is currently featured as the cover image for this posting. It was used in the initial publication of the poem in 1862.
